Robert Townsend paints highly finished images of the icons of an American Pop mythology. His unfailing eye for color and texture produce a vision of America's material culture that vacillates between nostalgia for what is lost and optimism for the continuation of American ingenuity.
Sullivan Goss is excited to announce an exhibition of meticulous pop realist paintings and prints by three of L.A.'s hottest young artists in the field: Robert Townsend, Dave Lefner and Mary-Austin Klein.
There are many items of interest, subtle charmers, poetic pranksters and ironically summery breezes to be found in the current Sullivan Gosss group show "CA Cool," celebrating Minimalist-Modernist trends from the Golden State.
